Sono state annunciate il 15 gennaio le candidature agli Oscar 2015. L’87ª edizione della cerimonia degli Academy Awards, l’ambito premio della cinematografia, si terrà al Dolby Theatre di Los Angeles il 22 febbraio 2015, diretta per la prima volta dall’attore Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), già reduce da simili esperienze di conduzione (Tony Awards, Prime Time Emmy Awards).
Per gli Oscar 2015, le nomination sono state annunciate, per la prima volta, tutte in conferenza stampa, mentre nelle passate edizioni solo le dieci categorie più importanti venivano annunciate in diretta tv e le restanti tredici erano diffuse con un comunicato cartaceo dall’Academy.
L’annuncio è stato diviso in due turni: il primo (Miglior film d’animazione, Miglior documentario, Miglior corto documentario, Miglior montaggio, Miglior canzone originale, Miglior scenografia, Miglior corto animato, Miglior cortometraggio, Miglior montaggio sonoro, Migliori effetti sonori e Migliori effetti speciali) è stato fatto da J. J. Abrams e Alfonso Cuarón, mentre il secondo turno di nomination (Miglior attore, Miglior attrice, Miglior attore non protagonista, Miglior attrice non protagonista, Miglior fotografia, Migliori costumi, Miglior regia, Miglior film straniero, Miglior trucco, Miglior colonna sonora, Miglior sceneggiatura non originale, Miglior sceneggiatura e Miglior film) è stato annunciato da Chris Pine e Cheryl Boone Isaacs, presidente dell’Academy.
Le pellicole che si sono accaparrate il maggior numero di nominations – ben nove a testa – sono stati Birdman di Alejandro González Iñárritu e Grand Budapest Hotel di Wes Anderson.
E va sottolineato che una delle sue nove candidature di Grand Budapest Hotel, ha un nome italiano (purtroppo l’unico nella corsa agli Oscar 2015): quello di Milena Canonero, costumista con tre Oscar in attivo, l’ultimo per Marie Antoinette.
